About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team within the bulk material handling division at our Pennsylvania location. You will play a critical role in designing electrical systems that support our custom mining equipment, with a focus on safety, reliability, and innovation. As a key member of the engineering team, you will collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to deliver world-class solutions for our mining clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement electrical systems for bulk material handling equipment used in mining operations.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software.
- Collaborate with the mechanical design team to integrate electrical components into overall system designs.
- Specify and select electrical components, such as motors, sensors, switches, and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design challenges, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Perform testing, validation, and commissioning of electrical systems on-site as required.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to source electrical parts and components.
- Provide technical support to the manufacturing and field service teams during equipment installation and maintenance.
- Ensure all electrical designs adhere to relevant codes (e.g., NEC, IEC), and prepare documentation for regulatory approvals.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably within the mining, bulk material handling, or heavy industrial equipment sectors.
- Proficiency with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
- Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC).
- Strong understanding of motor control systems, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Experience with field commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems is a plus.
