ADC is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee and manage our transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing operational efficiency. The position is located in Andalusia, AL. The qualified candidate will coordinate all activities of routing, delivery performance, and customer support. The Transportation Manager will oversee worker & driver training, performance feedback, and provide disciplinary recommendations when necessary.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Ensure all activities are performed safely, and in compliance with DOT and company standards to ensure efficient and cost-effective distribution of products to our retail partners.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Transportation department, including route planning and optimization, vehicle and driver scheduling.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, taking corrective action as needed.
- Provide continuous support to all members of the department.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair schedules to ensure fleet is in safe working condition and within compliance with all safety regulations.
- Resolve all transportation-related issues in an efficient and timely manner.
- Train and supervise all department members.
- Facilitate employee development, coaching, and counseling to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and implement process improvements enhance transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate across department teams to ensure smooth operation of deliveries.
- Stay knowledgeable and current on all industry trends and regulatory updates related to transportation logistics.
- Available to work flexible hours as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Management experience 5+ years, in a high-volume, logistics and distribution environment.
- Understand the geographical territories of our service area.
- Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess exceptional leadership skills promoting safety, employee development and retention
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations
- High-level of knowledge and expertise of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.
- Proficient in ELD telematics software.
- Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
- Valid driver license and clean driving record.
