As Unit President, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to ensure the company's success, growth, and profitability. This role involves overseeing all aspects of operations, including business development, project management, client relations, financial management, and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management: Lead and motivate the team, ensuring that each member is aligned with the unit’s objectives and company values. This includes hiring, training, and developing staff, as well as managing performance and resolving conflicts.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure a strong commitment to safety across all departments.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies for the business unit that align with the overall strategic organizational goals. This involves setting targets, identifying growth opportunities, and making strategic decisions to drive the unit’s success.
Operational Oversight: Oversight of the day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring that processes are efficient and effective. This includes managing budgets, resources, and schedules to meet operational goals and address any issues that arise.
Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze performance metrics to assess the unit’s progress towards its goals. This involves using data to make informed decisions and to drive continuous improvement.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks to the unit’s operations and develop strategies to mitigate them. This includes ensuring compliance with regulations and standards, as well as addressing any operational challenges.
Budget Management: Create and manage the unit's budget, ensuring that expenditures align with the financial plan. This includes forecasting revenue and expenses, and making adjustments as needed to stay within budget.
Revenue Generation: Develop strategies to drive sales and increase revenue. This involves identifying market opportunities, optimizing pricing strategies, and enhancing product or service offerings.
Cost Control: Monitor and manage costs to ensure that the unit operates efficiently. This includes controlling operational expenses, negotiating with suppliers, and finding ways to reduce waste.
Profitability Analysis: Analyze financial reports to assess the unit’s profitability. This involves reviewing P&L statements, identifying trends, and taking action to improve financial performance.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial general contracting.
- Successful record of leading teams and managing complex construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong working knowledge of contracts, contract negotiations, scheduling, receivables and general overhead and accounting principles.
- Excellent strategic thinking and visionary skills.
- Extensive knowledge of financial operations.
