Windows Server Engineer with Active Directory Expertise
**Location:** Paramus, NJ
**Schedule:** 2 days per week onsite
**Project Duration:** 6 months to 1 year for large Active Directory Migration
**Overview:**
The Windows Server Engineer will support a large-scale Active Directory migration in a complex enterprise environment, focusing on the discovery and migration of users, computers, and servers, along with ongoing support for Windows workstation and server migration issues. Responsibilities include application assessments, documentation, planning, and collaboration with various teams to ensure successful migrations to cloud-based solutions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead and support Active Directory migration efforts, including discovery of users, computers, servers, OUs, GPOs, and group memberships.
- Conduct application assessments and documentation while developing migration strategies to minimize disruption.
- Collaborate with technical teams for migrations to Google Apps/SaaS solutions and execute migrations using Quest's On Demand Migration (ODM-AD) and Migration Manager (MMAD).
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, manage change requests, and schedule user and computer migrations.
- Maintain documentation and standards in Confluence and act as an escalation point for migration-related issues.
- Incorporate ITIL methodologies in project execution and support.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of Windows Server administration experience with a strong focus on Active Directory.
- 3+ years of experience with Citrix XenApp, Citrix Cloud, VDAs, and VDIs.
- Microsoft MCSE certification preferred; strong technical knowledge of server systems, virtualization, and cloud solutions.
- Experience in complex multi-forest and multi-domain Active Directory environments, secure tiered infrastructures, and with Microsoft Entra Connect/Azure AD Connect is a plus.
- Proficiency in Windows desktop and server environments, including Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and Active Directory migration processes.
- Familiarity with Quest’s OneIdentity Password Manager, PowerShell, VMware, Linux, AWS, and SCCM is beneficial.
