Job Summary:
The Director/Senior Director of Medical Science Liaison will act as a scientific liaison to the medical and academic community, responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with Health Care Providers/Professionals (HCPs) to ensure the timely and ethical dissemination of clinical and scientific information.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serve as a medical advocate by leveraging deep knowledge in rheumatology, nephrology, autoimmune and cellular therapy to engage HCPs in scientific exchange, delivering synthesized feedback to Clinical and Medical leadership.
- Lead external scientific engagement by identifying, building, and nurturing relationships with clinical investigators, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and site research staff, supporting Clinical Development/Operations in trial site identification and enrollment.
- Collaborate with Clinical Development on shared initiatives, providing strategic insights to shape programs and study designs.
- Contribute to internal cross-functional business planning, scenario workshopping, and overall Clinical and Medical strategies.
- Support complex Medical Affairs projects, offering solutions and mitigation strategies to enhance collaboration with healthcare teams and clinical sites.
- Identify organizational efficiencies to improve project execution aligned with departmental and corporate objectives.
- Work with cross-functional colleagues to drive results on key initiatives, including milestone achievements, resource management, budget deliverables, and detailed work plans for impactful projects.
- Territory: USA
- Travel of 50-75%
Requirements:
- Professional (MD, PharmD, PhD) or graduate degree (PhD preferred) in a relevant field is required (focus in Autoimmunity, LN, RA, SLE is highly preferred).
- Minimum of 10+ years of clinical and industry Medical Affairs experience with increasing responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate complex medical and scientific information effectively to HCPs and Medical Affairs leadership.
- Extensive experience in clinical-stage rheumatology and early pipeline Medical Affairs, including collaboration with Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, and Research teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills, and good negotiating and influencing skills.
- High integrity, sense of urgency, and ability to navigate time-sensitive situations.
- In-depth experience with cellular therapy clinical trials and a comprehensive understanding of the cellular therapy landscape.
- Proven track record in scientific congress planning, internal medical education for non-clinical stakeholders, and publication support.
