We are a rapidly growing organization in the Woodbridge, NJ area. We are seeking to hire a Mobile Application Developer- Project Manager to join our team of progressive professionals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following responsibilities:
Job Summary:
The Mobile App Development Project Manager supports the planning, execution, and delivery of mobile and web applications with a specific focus on coordinating offshore development teams. This role is responsible for managing communication, aligning offshore teams with in-house stakeholders, tracking development progress, and ensuring timely delivery of app projects.
Job Responsibilities:
App Development Coordination: Work closely with offshore app development team to coordinate the planning, development, and delivery of mobile and web applications.
Sprint Planning: Plan sprints, managing sprint backlogs, and ensuring offshore development team are on track with their assigned tasks, especially across different time zones.
Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between in-house stakeholders (product owners, UX/UI designers, QA teams) and offshore development team. Ensure clear communication of app requirements, updates, and issues.
Task Tracking: Use project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana) to track and manage offshore development tasks, monitor progress, and follow up on milestones to ensure deadlines are met.
Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including user stories, technical specs, and status reports, ensuring offshore team have clear guidelines and requirements.
Meeting Facilitation: Organize and lead daily or weekly remote meetings with offshore teams to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure alignment with in-house teams. This includes daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Quality Assurance Coordination: Collaborate with QA teams to ensure offshore developers deliver high-quality code and that app features are tested and meet quality standards before release.
Change Management: Manage changes in project scope, timelines, or deliverables, and effectively communicate these changes to both in-house and offshore team.
App Store Coordination: Assist in preparing app releases, coordinating with offshore developers to ensure all necessary documentation and assets are ready for App Store and Google Play submission.
Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Director of R&D and stakeholders on the progress of offshore development, identifying risks, and addressing any roadblocks.
Job Requirements:
Experience: 5+ years of experience in project coordination, preferably working with offshore or distributed development teams in a mobile or web app development environment.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with mobile and web app development processes (Agile/Scrum methodologies) and experience with project management tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
Offshore Team Coordination: Experience working with offshore development teams, understanding the challenges of managing teams across different time zones.
App Development Knowledge: Understanding of mobile platforms (iOS, Android).
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively manage remote collaboration and bridge cultural and language differences.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and time zone challenges in an app development environment.
Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying and resolving project challenges involving offshore teams.
Certifications: Project management certifications (e.g., CAPM, PMP, CSM) are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with the app store submission processes for both iOS and Android platforms.
Understanding of deployment pipelines (e.g., CI/CD) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Knowledge of app testing, user feedback loops, and analytics tools (e.g., Firebase, App Annie).
Experience in managing cultural and language differences with offshore teams.
