Summary of the Role:
The Operations Manager has responsibility for the sites production operations working closely with Engineering, Quality, Commercial Teams, and customers to deliver high quality parts to our customers. This role oversees department managers to ensure departmental goals are established and achieved, maximizing customer satisfaction while minimizing cost.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensures departmental goals are established and driven to support Trelleborg’s Goals and Objectives
- Works with direct reports to communicate and update goals and/or metrics, illustrating objective evidence of improvement.
- Performs process audits to monitor procedure and policy conformance.
- Responsible for supporting and sustaining safety, quality, delivery, and cost metric boards across operational departments.
- Collaborates across functional areas to implement needed improvements (tools, equipment, procedures, forms, training materials, etc.)
- Actively promotes and leads a culture of continuous improvement guiding site Operational Excellence and Procurement Excellence goals.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and directives.
- Partner with Management to ensure site’s financial goals and deliverables are met.
- Active participation in establishing site operation strategic planning in alignment with Trelleborg vision.
- Effective leadership in supporting employee engagement efforts and communication.
- Support and provide regular alignment with Supply Chain, and Quality in support of a One TSS culture.
- Provide excellent customer support as required.
- Support manufacturing process to support initiatives that sustain a culture of Lean.
- Escalates issues or concerns to Plant Manager as appropriate.
- Provides a safe and clean working environment for all employees.
Education and Experience:
- 4-year degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field
- 7+ years Operations experience
- 5 years of supervisory experience
- Experience with Lean Sigma methodologies
- Experience managing in a unionized manufacturing facility.
Desired:
- MBA or master’s degree in related field
- 10+ years of Operations Management experience
