About the Company - We are currently seeking a licensed NC attorney for a litigation practice law firm located in Norfolk, VA.
About the Role - Attorney can have VA bar in addition to NC Bar license (required). Duties will include travel to courthouses for filings, work will consist of mostly bankruptcy, foreclosure, collections, and business law.
Responsibilities
- Legal actions: Initiating legal actions to recover debts, such as sending demand letters, filing lawsuits, and obtaining judgments
- Legal remedies: Executing legal remedies, such as garnishing wages or seizing assets
- Legal guidance: Providing legal guidance and assistance to protect a client's legal rights
- Documenting issues: Documenting any issues or violations that a client believes occurred
- Negotiating payment plans: Negotiating payment plans to collect overdue amounts in installments
- Maintaining records: Maintaining records of contacts, attempted contacts, and payments collected
- Submitting reports: Submitting regular reports on the status of unpaid accounts and repayment progress
