We currently have an opening for a Compounding Pharmacy Technician and looking for a strong partner that will help us continue to grow and provide exceptional service.
Description of Position (Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-6pm; rotating Sat 9am-2pm)
The Compounding Technician will work in a clean room, under the supervision of the Pharmacist, and be responsible for compounding various dosage forms and compounded prescription types utilizing methods such as levigation, trituration, titration, and geometric dilution. In addition, the selected candidate will utilize an Unguator, Ointment Mill, Graduate Cylinders, Suppository Molds, Troche Molds, Topical Syringes, and other equipment as necessary to prepare compounds.
Additional Responsibilities/Duties:
- Preparation and compounding of sterile dosage forms in compliance with USP 797
- Utilizing a benchtop powder hood to weigh powders and measure liquids
- Preparing suppositories, troches, suspensions, solutions, creams, ointments, and other dosage forms
- Cleaning all equipment utilized between compounds to ensure there is no cross contamination
- Labeling and packaging of prepared compounds
- Inventory Management and storage
The selected candidate Must Have:
- Minimum of 6 months recent sterile compounding experience
- Current PTCB Certification and/or Current Virginia Board of Pharmacy License
- High School Graduate
