Publication Production Specialist Job Summary:
Sparks Group has partnered with a global association based in Washington, DC to find a Publication Production Specialist. This will be a hybrid opportunity requiring you to be in the office at least 2 days per week. As a Publication Production Specialist, you will provide editorial input and fulfill substantial parts of the production processes relevant to the publication of numerous journals.
Publication Production Specialist Responsibilities:
- To coordinate editorial production for five (5) journals, including administrative management of the electronic manuscript submission system.
- Use journal reporting tools to create and analyze reports.
- Administrative management of Journal’s electronic submission system Editorial Manager.
- Manages social media for all journals composing posts promoting manuscripts on LinkedIn and Twitter.
- Creates data as desired by editorial boards of our journals.
- Proofread publications/material.
- Manage correspondence between copyeditors and publisher.
- Manage author correspondence at galley and proof stages.
- Prepare issue makeup.
- Work with Director of Publications and other leadership to define publications department priorities.
Publication Production Specialist Requirements:
- BS/BA degree is required.
- 2+ years of proofreading experience, including copy preparation.
- Experience with Editorial Manager a must.
- Excellent reading and accuracy skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and proofreader marks.
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in a team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Familiarity with electronic publishing technologies.
- Above average knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
