Responsibility:
- Overseeing the daily operations of an ISO: 9001 & 17025 accredited calibration laboratory,
- ensuring that all calibration activities are performed to the highest industry standards and regulatory requirements, including compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Ellab’s Quality Management Systems (QMS), and Ellab’s Calibration and Certification Management Systems (CCMS).
- Lead a team of technicians, manage lab resources, and ensure equipment is Calibrated accurately and efficiently to maintain accreditation, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- The Calibration Lab Manager will also develop and implement calibration procedures, oversee lab safety protocols, and manage relevant interdepartmental relationships to meet Ellab’s operational needs.
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Supervise, mentor, and train a team of calibration technicians and support staff.
- Set performance goals, manage workloads, and provide feedback to ensure the team meets productivity, quality, ISO: 9001 & 17025, QMS, GDP, and CCMS standards.
- Oversee the calibration of a wide variety of instruments, including electrical, dimensional, temperature, pressure, flow equipment, Relative Humidity, etc.
- Ensure all calibrations comply with relevant ISO standards, Ellab SOP’s, and Industry regulations while adhering to accuracy and precision requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex calibration issues and ensure timely resolution to minimize operational downtime.
- Manage the daily operations of the ISO 17025 accredited calibration laboratory, including scheduling work, maintaining equipment, and ensuring efficient workflow.
- Develop and maintain calibration procedures and protocols in line with ISO 17025, Ellab’s QMS, GDP, and Ellab’s CCMS requirements to improve accuracy, consistency, and traceability.
- To support ISO 17025 accreditation, ensure proper documentation, follow GDP standards, and maintain traceability for all calibration activities.
- Ensure the calibration lab maintains compliance with ISO 17025 accreditation, Ellab’s QMS, GDP, Ellab’s CCMS, and applicable industry standards and customer specifications.
- Conduct regular internal audits to assess the quality, performance, and adherence to Ellab’s QMS and GDP practices in the calibration process.
- Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to uphold high-quality standards and maintain ISO 17025 accreditation.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of laboratory equipment, ensuring it meets operational standards and complies with relevant guidelines and requirements
- Manage inventory levels of calibration tools and consumables, ensuring the lab is adequately equipped to meet operational demands.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external customers, addressing any questions or concerns regarding calibration services, capabilities, and compliance.
- Prepare and deliver calibration reports and certificates that are fully compliant with relevant ISO, QMS, GDP, and CCMS requirements ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.
- Provide technical support and advice to clients on calibration needs and best practices.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols in the lab, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and compliance with applicable health and safety regulations.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, in accordance with lab safety and Ellab guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Metrology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in calibration, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of calibration principles, ISO 17025, GDP, QMS, and CCMS.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using calibration management software, CCMS, and other related tools.
