Fantastic opportunity to join one of the world's leading global law firms in an internal advisory capacity (this is not a fee earning client-facing position). This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days in office per week.
This is a newly created role with the firm's internal Risk and Compliance team responsible for implementing internal risk processes and advising on AML & Sanctions requirements, and other compliance requirements arising from relevant jurisdictional regulations.
You will be a trusted adviser to the business, providing high quality, proactive business-focused support and solutions on a variety of commercial and complex regulatory issues, focused mainly on global AML requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Analysing and resolving legal, regulatory and commercial issues relating to business acceptance and client engagement in the areas of financial crime, which are referred by internal staff
- Answer questions from partners, associates and staff at all levels across the firm regarding relevant AML laws, regulations and firm policies
- Monitoring changes in practice, professional rules, regulations and the law as affects financial crime globally and escalating any proposed adjustments/enhancements to global leadership
- In conjunction with the existing Managers, assisting with the day-to-day oversight and development of Financial Crime Analysts
Desired Skills and Experience:
- JD required. Preferably admitted in NYC, CA or DC
- At least 4+ years of providing legal analysis and advice in global AML & Sanctions requirements
- International experience with a leading top tier law firm or financial institution is highly advantageous
