Skills Alliance are partnered with a leading chemical group in their search for a Procurement Team Lead, The Procurement Team Lead will provide direct supervision of 3 other procurement individuals at the facility. This position will lead activities related to sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiations, Purchase Order (“PO”) creation, and other related activities. The role will act as an intermediary between corporate and plant level operations, engaging in proactive communications across all stakeholders.
What will be expected from you?
- Consistently innovating and improving daily Procurement activities.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization.
- Instill strong communication and relationships with key suppliers.
- Define and create best-in-class policies and procedures.
- Actively identify opportunities to streamline/improve Procurement systems.
- Ensure existing processes meet required internal controls.
- Perform sourcing activities and negotiations to achieve corporate savings goals (total cost)
- Execute category sourcing strategies including development and execution of sourcing events.
- Evaluate external markets for competitive sources of supply.
- Implement supplier risk analysis process.
- Follow/document professional bid processes.
- Ensure daily Procurement activities are completed in a timely manner to meet internal customer requirements.
- Supervise daily activity of site-based Procurement organization.
- Establish SMART goals with team members and support efforts improve Procurement skills.
- Improve team cohesion and morale.
What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering with equivalent work experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment preferred.
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
- 10+ years of work experience in managing service and contractor categories related to the Petrochemicals Industry.
- Proven project management experience in industrial services or sourcing activities, with emphasis in the following areas: Construction / Engineering Services and Capital Projects and Plant Maintenance Services.
- Strategic sourcing or supply chain management experience (contracts and vendor management, supplier evaluation, regulatory compliance, segmentation & taxonomy).
- Experience managing contractor safety compliance programs similar to ISN Net world or PICS.
- A high degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications; Advanced Microsoft Excel and database manipulation skills.
- Proficiency in SAP 3.6 or higher.
