General Purpose:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Company’s people strategy. This role will be responsible for managing resources and processes for recruiting, onboarding and offboarding, employee retention, benefits, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. This role focuses on setting and implementing a company strategy to ensure a positive employee experience and productive workplace. Additionally, the Human Resources Manager will manage employee benefits, open enrollment processes, the performance review process and maintain relationships with third party support and consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies that attract qualified candidates across all companies, locations, and departments.
- Manage the hiring process that includes job descriptions, job postings, screening, interviewing, and candidate selection.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and ensure an efficient recruiting process.
- Lead recruiting and onboarding meetings to implement recruiting strategies.
- Design and lead a comprehensive onboarding program to integrate new employees effectively into Company culture including introduction to the Talent Advantage Roadmap and orientation of key policies and procedures.
Employee Retention Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Gather feedback, report findings, and identify areas of Company improvement for employee retention.
- Address employee concerns promptly and maintain open lines of communication between staff and management.
Employee Benefit and Open Enrollment:
- Administer and manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life and disability and retirement plans.
- Lead the annual open enrollment process, ensuring accurate communication of benefits options to employees.
- Address employee questions and concerns regarding benefits and manage ongoing enrollments and adjustments.
- Ensure all employee benefit changes are updated in the respective third party portal and communicated to payroll to ensure accuracy for employees.
People Strategy
- Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and execute a forward-thinking and innovative strategy that aligns with both short and long-term business goals.
- Identify key talent development and succession planning opportunities within the organization.
HR Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and company policies.
- Forward thinking strategy on regulatory changes and how it affects the business.
- Responsible for key company policies, changes and updates, and periodic acknowledgments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources (preferred). Degrees in Business Administration or a related field plus experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- 5+ years of experience in an HR role in a Construction, Manufacturing, or similar field/operational industry is preferred.
- Professional certifications in HR are a plus.
- Knowledge and understanding of HR best practices, labor laws, and benefits administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suit and other information systems.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work on own and problem solve issues.
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Travel Requirement:
This position requires some travel due to national Company growth initiatives. While there may be some overnight travel it will be opportunistic and minimal, less than 5%. The travel requirements will mostly be day trips to area office and shop locations.
Physical Requirements:
Will regularly sit, use of hands/fingers, talk/hear. Will occasionally stand, walk, grasp, reach w/ hands/arms, bend/stoop/kneel/squat/crawl. Lift up to 40lbs. Near vision. Ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Will regularly be in an office. For the most part, ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in typical office environment. Will occasionally be in a job or shop site. Moderate noise level. Employees must use personal protective equipment as deemed necessary by the industry/construction safety standards and/or by McCarl’s safety policy and procedures.
