Title this position reports to: Assistant Director of Admissions Operations
** This role will be on assignment for Columbia University School of Professional Studies, hired through NextSource Temporary Agency.**
Basic Function:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Admissions Operations, the Admissions Operations Coordinator works closely with the Admissions Operations team and will play an important role in reviewing student records for accuracy, reviewing submitted admitted applications for potential integrity lapses, conducting a thorough screening of the application materials and conducting high level research for applications flagged as having a potential integrity lapse. Assists as needed in responding to applicant inquiries regarding their application status and determining if applications are missing relevant documents.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews submitted admissions application documents, screening for potential integrity lapses.
- Conducts research based on findings from the application integrity review.
- Work within the application system to enter comments and offer suggestions on submitted admissions documents regarding application integrity.
- Flags applications requiring escalated integrity screening.
- Complete final compliance checks on applications prior to processing admission decisions.
- Compare and consolidate duplicate records, following up with applicants for more information when necessary.
- Downloads, images, and links transcripts, test scores, and credit evaluations with existing applications.
- Responds to applicant emails regarding the status of their application as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Supervision Received and/or Exercised:
Works under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Admissions Operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Must be able to handle confidential information in a mature, professional manner.
- Ability to work independently as well as in teams in a highly-matrixed environment, receiving direction from and providing support to multiple sources.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to perform non-routine work with changing priorities
- A skills evaluation will likely be conducted during the interview process
