A Phoenix Crane Service Crane Operator “Operator” is responsible for safe crane and lifting operations throughout numerous industries. An Operator with a CDL is also responsible for standard and specialized transportation activities. The “Operator” will inspect cranes, vehicles, and equipment while completing daily and monthly inspections. The “Operator” will maintain/service vehicles and equipment, lead and assist loading and unloading activities, and drive/haul standard and specialized equipment/loads throughout Phoenix Crane Rental’s coverage area. During crane operations, the “Operator” is responsible for leading crane preparation (site preparation/crane erection/dismantle) and lifting activities. The “Operator” will lead Phoenix Crane Rental team members and work directly with the Phoenix Crane Rental Management team to make sure all work is executed safely per company polices.
The ”Operator” must remain compliant with FMCSA/NCCCO Health and Safety regulations along with OSHA and MSHA regulations during operations.
The “Operator” will report directly to The Phoenix Crane Rental Operations Team while working collaboratively with all departments.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (list is not inclusive):
· Maintain commercial driver’s license (Class A or B) and driving record in compliance with FMCSA and PCS Insurance requirements.
· Maintain NCCCO Crane Operator Certification(s) and all requirements
· Safely operate equipment assigned by PCS.
· Must be able to read and interpret load charts, measure, and assess lift conditions.
· Lead crane operations and lifting activities.
· Follow PCS Policies and Procedures along with regulations set forth by OSHA, MSHA, ASMI, NCCCO, and FMCSA
· Must be able to work independently and effectively with minimal direct supervision.
· Communicate clearly and efficiently to all PCS departments as requested/required
· Maintain detailed Daily Logs of specific tasks performed, day/hours worked
· Provide accurate, timely, and professional customer service while working with all customers and/or contracted personnel.
· Time Management: Arrive at the yard/job locations on time; communicate with Dispatch and Operations for assignments, schedules, projects, etc.…
· Adhere to PCS and NCCCO Code of Ethics.
· Work with PCS Sales Department to arrange additional work for the Customer and/or other Contractors, if solicited. (Scheduling, surveying/sizing, etc.…)
· Must have a flexible schedule and adhere to working nights and weekends as required. PCS is a 24/7/365 operation
TOOLS, TRAINING, AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Fully functioning smart phone and access to email
· OSHA 10-Hour Course Completed (Must be completed within 6 months of hire date)
· Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, ability to climb, kneel, and stand for long periods of time (Fit for Duty)
· Drug/Alcohol Free- must comply with PCS’s Drug Testing Program (Drug Free Workplace)
· Must be able to work in all types of weather
