DESCRIPTION
Ability to work from and interpret manufacturers, maintenance manuals, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, pneumatic schematics, wiring and piping diagrams, install, maintain, diagnose troubles, and make mechanical or electrical repairs to all plant electrical, or electronic equipment including equipment utilizing numerical controls. Highly skilled in both electrical and mechanical maintenance. Add, remove, replace, modify equipment related components including electrical, electronic chemical, magnetic, pneumatic, hydraulic, sonic, optical equipment. Analyze equipment, circuitry, diagnose troubles, repair, adjust, modify, service all types of electronic devices and systems including communication computing and control systems, utilizing various measuring, testing instruments, electronic analyzing equipment. Perform necessary mechanical assembly, disassembly of any or all components. Perform routine maintenance on equipment including overhaul, cleaning, lubrication, testing. Operate machine tool equipment and related equipment under test conditions. Maintain files of electronic, pneumatic, schematic, wiring and piping diagrams, manuals, records charts, graphs and make necessary changes. Make all necessary forms, reports, sketches, drawings, and parts lists. Requestion materials, parts, tools and all other necessary items to get plant operational. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Maintain good housekeeping practices and habits while encouraging the same from coworkers. Exhibits safe execution of all tasks and duties. Work collaboratively with company supervision to meet company goals.
COMPLEXITY AND JUDGMENT
Work which requires judgment in the application of established principles and practices where independent thought and action influence decisions which are essential in working toward assigned objectives.
Maintains and modifies, as needed, all plant and production mechanical, electrical and electronic control equipment including related pneumatic, magnetic, hydraulic, optic, sonic, chemical components, and controls.
Requirements:
EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE
A wide range of mechanical, electrical and electronic testing and analyzing equipment including voltmeter, gauges, brush recorder, viscosimeter, oscilloscope, digital counter, transducer, tube and transistor checker, galvanometers, optical comparator, leak detector, interferometer, stroboscope, thermocouples, capacitance leak tester, vibrational and dynamic tester, harmonic analyzer, digital voltmeter, flow meter, electronic, sonic, pneumatic, hydraulic, optical, chemical comparator or control testing machine, mobile personnel lifting equipment. Three to five years of maintenance experience on a variety of plant electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic equipment. Formal electric training is desired but not required.
INITIATIVE
Follow established practice and clear-cut policy in performing majority of duties. Initiative necessary to successfully perform functional responsibilities. Must display a degree of initiative toward the preventative maintenance of the plant and equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Some heavy lifting, push/pulling on occasion, but largely moderate physical effort required. Some work must be performed in an awkward position.
Employees working in this position are required to frequently walk or hear. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to one hundred (100) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Some conditions are extremely noisy with exposure to electrical hazards, dust, flying chips, heat and some fumes. Some exposure to outside weather conditions.
Working in the foundry environment subject to temperatures of heat and cold depending on the season. Required PPE includes, but is not limited to proper flame-retardant clothing, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, eye protection, and necessary protective mask.
Compensation details: 26-30 Hourly Wage
