Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Bankruptcy Paralegal (Chapter 13) with 2+ years in the role of legal assistant with some familiarity with bankruptcy and/or litigation.
- Be an essential and contributing member of the Bankruptcy Team!
- Draft and finalize correspondence and various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery materials.
- Handle the initial intake of new referrals by reviewing referral data to ensure all necessary information and documentation are included.
- Prepare supporting documentation for bankruptcy cases.
- Compile and redact exhibits for legal proceedings.
- Proofread, revise, finalize and electronically file bankruptcy pleadings.
- Monitor e-filing notifications for updates throughout the referral process and communicate updates to clients and attorneys.
- Review Chapter 13 Plans.
- Prepare draft of proposed orders.
- Communicate with and act as liaison between clients, debtor attorneys, and bankruptcy trustees to convey information/requests, obtain updated amounts due, and to negotiate settlements.
- Review federal and local bankruptcy rules and procedures on non-standard or out-of-state bankruptcy matters to ensure pleadings meet the Court’s rules/requirements.
- Review court procedures for filings in out-of-state courts; prepare Motions to Appear Pro Hac Vice for review.
- Generate and manage all flat fee invoices and billing memos to provide to client and billing department.
- Regularly update bankruptcy forms to ensure compliance with court procedures and local rule changes.
- Maintain bankruptcy forms to reflect the latest court procedures and local rule changes.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite products.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members in a client-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of CaseAware software is preferred.
- 2-year Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies or a business-related field preferred.
