Job Title: Set-Up Technician/Setter
Shift: Night Shift [6pm-6am] in a 2-2-3 Schedule.
Pay: Up to $35/hr +10% differential for night shift.
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL
Position Overview:
The Setter is responsible for the startup, operation, and basic maintenance of injection molding and assembly equipment. The role ensures that production equipment is running efficiently and that the quality of the molded and assembled products meets company standards. This includes performing mold changes, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Start and operate molding and assembly machines, ensuring they run according to set parameters.
- Conduct inspections of products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Load programs and master cycle parameters into machines during startups.
- Perform mold changes, color changes, and material lots as needed.
- Troubleshoot small- to mid-sized process issues, escalating when necessary.
- Clean and maintain workspaces, adhering to 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
- Maintain and perform basic TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) on equipment.
- Support company policies regarding safety, quality (GMP), and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic mechanical and PC skills.
- Experience with injection molding or robotic systems is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for most of the shift.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues and escalate when needed.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing environment with moderate noise.
- Exposure to clean room standards and frequent use of tools and machinery.
Additional Information:
This role requires candidates to work 12-hour shifts (nights), and may involve some physically demanding tasks such as lifting and handling molds.
