Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Operations & Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities at the facility. The successful candidate will lead efforts to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient functioning of the power generation plant, adhering to all relevant safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the monitoring, inspection, and control of power production, auxiliary systems, and facility equipment to maintain continuous and efficient operations.
- Ensure that plant emissions and effluents comply with regulatory limits and take proactive measures to avoid any safety or environmental incidents.
- Identify and report operational discrepancies promptly.
- Provide guidance and oversight to team members, including training and mentoring O&M Technicians.
- Participate in the training program for Operator Technicians, ensuring they meet required qualifications.
- Step in to support O&M Technicians during personnel shortages or as needed.
- Occasionally perform hands-on maintenance and operational tasks, assisting with equipment repairs when necessary.
- Generate and manage maintenance work orders and purchase requisitions using CMMS software.
- Assist the Plant Manager with budgeting, operational planning, and staff development.
- Continuously enhance knowledge of plant operations and power generation technology.
- Lead the facility’s safety, health, and training initiatives with a hands-on approach.
- Maintain the Environmental QA/QC Manual and ensure full compliance with environmental regulations.
- Prepare and submit necessary reports to the Plant Manager for review by the Owner or utility.
- Oversee the upkeep of plant logs, records, and operations manuals, ensuring they are accurate and up to date.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a power generation facility.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software, with the ability to interpret technical manuals and drawings.
- A valid driver’s license is required for company-related travel.
