Job Title: Building Automation Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Building Automation Assistant Project Manager to join our San Diego, CA team. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical or electrical engineering background, with expertise in building automation systems (BAS), including BACnet and DDC controls. You will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of BAS projects from design through completion, working closely with project managers and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in overseeing building automation system (BAS) projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
- Review project designs, specifications, and submittals and assist in coordinating installation plans with field teams and contractors.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Visio for project documentation, ensuring accurate as-built drawings and system layouts.
- Manage and troubleshoot BAS integrations, including systems like BACnet, DDC controls, Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, and Johnson Controls Metasys.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements and assist in managing change orders, procurement, and cost control.
- Maintain a local and stable work history, showing a commitment to the region and consistent professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (EIT or PE license is a plus).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience building automation or control systems, with a stable work history.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio for design and documentation.
- Knowledge of BACnet, DDC controls, and experience working with various control systems (Tridium Niagara, Distech, ALC, Alerton, Johnson Controls Metasys, and Schneider Electric).
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with MS Project or similar project management software.
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and integrating complex BAS systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members, vendors, and clients.
