Our client is seeking a Renewable Energy Partner to help shape the future of sustainable energy. They provide cutting-edge legal services in the development, purchase, sale, and financing of renewable energy projects, including those funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Their attorneys are pioneers in creating innovative structured finance vehicles, utilising various tax credit, grant, and loan programs available under ARRA.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage client relationships, representing lenders, investors, sponsors, and governmental entities in renewable energy project financings.
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel in connection with the development, acquisition, sale, and financing of renewable energy projects.
- Advise on nonrecourse and limited-recourse project financings, including structured lease financings, utilising structured finance models, bank debt, bonds, mezzanine debt, and credit support.
- Draft, negotiate, and execute partnership and joint venture agreements, tax and liability structures, and other legal documents relevant to the renewable energy sector.
- Guide clients through environmental planning, permitting, and regulatory compliance, as well as labor issues and dispute resolution.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and current bar admission in New York.
- Extensive experience practicing in energy law, with a focus on renewable energy projects.
- Broad knowledge of renewable energy finance structures, including structured finance, project finance, partnership structures, tax credits, and other relevant legal frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex legal transactions, including joint ventures, site acquisitions, EPC agreements, and PPAs.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, providing sound legal counsel to a diverse client base, including lenders, governmental entities, investors, and sponsors.
