We are seeking a Bilingual Underwriting Manager for our Middleton, Wi office.
The Underwriting Manager will play a critical role in assessing, analyzing, and approving credit applications in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the underwriting team to ensure effective credit risk assessment and decision-making.
- Establish and maintain underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and compliant underwriting practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and compliance, to streamline underwriting processes and ensure efficient workflow.
- Review and assess credit applications, including financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documentation, to make informed lending decisions.
- Monitor underwriting criteria as needed to manage risk effectively.
- Train and develop underwriting staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to make sound credit decisions.
- Provide guidance and support for complex or escalated underwriting cases.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Distributors, regulatory bodies, and credit reporting agencies.
- Generate reports and present key performance indicators to senior management.
- Understands and adheres to legal/compliance standards included in corporate policies and accepts ownership for accomplishing existing tasks that fulfill legal/compliance requirements. Reports compliance violations when identified.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4 year University.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish at a professional level or higher (reading, writing, & speaking)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset and ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in using underwriting software and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of international credit regulations and best practices.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
