Books-A-Million, the second-largest book retailer in the U.S., is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer to join our Executive Leadership Team. This role will oversee all financial operations and serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, driving value creation and helping to shape portfolio strategies. You will lead a team of 30-35 finance and accounting professionals and manage budgeting, financial reporting, investment strategy, cash flow, and risk management across our retail, wholesale, e-commerce, and real estate divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management
- Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance
- Manage lender relations and investment strategies
- Partner with leadership on operational and strategic initiatives
- Ensure financial compliance with GAAP and other regulations
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA required; MBA is a plus
- 10-12 years of finance experience
- Strong experience in the retail sector preferred
- Expertise in financial technology, accounting, and strategic budgeting
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage growth, and drive business results
