Job Summary:
The Remote Electrical Construction Project Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical construction projects for commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings. This role ensures that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while meeting client expectations and maintaining the highest standards of quality. The position is remote, with travel required for site visits as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination:
- Manage all phases of electrical construction projects from pre-construction through completion, ensuring alignment with project schedules and budgets.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and cost estimates for electrical installations and systems.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead project teams, including electricians, subcontractors, and engineers, to ensure all work is completed according to project specifications.
- Provide leadership and direction to on-site and remote teams, ensuring efficient communication and collaboration.
- Oversee staffing needs, managing resource allocation to ensure optimal project delivery.
- Budget Management & Cost Control:
- Monitor project budgets, ensuring expenses are controlled and financial targets are met.
- Work with the procurement team to ensure materials and equipment are ordered in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit progress reports and financial updates to senior management and clients.
- Quality Control & Safety Management:
- Ensure all electrical work complies with industry standards, client specifications, and local building codes.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure that work is performed safely and according to design and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all project team members.
- Client Relations & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, answering questions, and providing project updates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
- Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to review project progress and address any challenges.
- Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:
- Identify potential issues or delays early and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Resolve on-site challenges, including technical, staffing, or supply chain issues, to minimize impact on project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing electrical construction projects, with at least 3 years in a project management role.
- Proven track record managing commercial or industrial electrical construction projects remotely.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and installations, including industry standards and local codes.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, teams, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar tools).
- Certifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant certifications preferred.
- OSHA certification or similar safety training is an advantage.
