Background:
SouthCoast Wind (SCW) is located in Boston, MA, currently developing a 2.4GW lease off the south coast of MA. Two 1.2GW projects are in development with expected FID 2025 and COD 2030. The key function of the Project Services Manager is to put in place and maintain a robust budget control system, program management system and risk management system and ensuring that the reporting provides a reliable and up to date status of the projects
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver, maintain and continuously improve robust and reliable plans and control structures for the project including budget and cost, program and risk.
- Manage the Project Services Team that includes the Cost Control, Risk Management and Program management ensuring the Team is fully coordinated and they achieve their career development goals.
- Consolidate and prepare the information required for issuing the Monthly Report used by the Project Management Team for decision making. This shall include budget, schedule, risk and contingency and others. Prepare other reporting tools as required.
- Lead the preparation of an up-to-date project schedule showing a comparison with the project base case program and the impact on the critical path of the project and the business case overall. • Lead the preparation of an up-to-date project budget showing a comparison with the base case and highlighting reasons for deviations together with the impact on the business case overall.
- Lead the preparation of the project risk register consolidating the input from all packages whilst assessing the quality and credibility of such inputs.
- Lead the preparation of an up-to-date project contingency showing a comparison with the base case and highlighting reasons for deviations together with the impact on the business case overall.
- Ensure the Project Services Team has the right technological and human resources to deliver its obligations.
- Assess and incorporate the impact of approved changes and any deviations from the key project targets and milestones, including productivity monitoring and identification of alternate approaches to optimize the plan(s).
- Develop contract sections for planning and progress reporting. Review and verify contractors reported progress and ensure that this is reflected in the project schedule.
- Contribute to the translation of the project’s risk profile into the probabilistic risk model and understand the output, including the key risk drivers for the possible range of schedule completion dates. Track the criticality of the main paths to completion and float consumption.
- Where possible, assess project targets through internal & external benchmarking.
Minimum Requirements:
- Engineering Degree and/or Certification as a Project Services Manager or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8 years industry experience in planning positions. Preferred: 4-5 years’ experience in a lead project services/project controls role in both the frontend and execution phases of an opportunity or project.
- Good written and oral communications
- Fully versed with Planning principles & techniques and Primavera P6
- Experience with offshore projects is a strong plus
- Knowledge of the design and development of offshore wind farms, including related transmission infrastructure would be a plus.
- Effective communicator with ability to collaborate and integrate the many parties usually at the table.
