Field Geologist/Environmental Staff Scientist
Seeking a motivated, well-rounded Geologist/Field Staff Scientist/Engineer for clients full-service geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and environmental engineering consulting Firm. The position will consist of a blend of office and fieldwork with approximately 20% office and 80% field. The successful candidate will work on challenging and diverse tasks for projects related to environmental diligence, and soil and groundwater contaminant investigation and remediation for a variety of clients, from small local businesses up to Fortune 100/500 companies across the country.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Geology, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science or related
- 1-5 years of related professional experience
- Excellent writing and communication skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience with soil and groundwater sampling
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and soil logging programs is preferred, but not mandatory
- Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to Performance and oversight of field sample collection and Analysis of air, soil, groundwater, water, and building materials
- Oversight of excavation activities which may include contaminated soil and/or underground storage tank removal
- Oversight of field monitoring investigations which may include groundwater and vapor intrusion sampling events
- Operate and maintenance on groundwater remediation systems
- Oversight of drilling explorations, well installations, and remediation activities on project sites
- Assist Project Managers on complex investigation and remediation projects
- Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Operate within quality, budget, and schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments
- Conduct site assessments, research, and date analysis to assess potential environmental risks
- Prepare Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessment reports for Project Management review
- Evaluate and interpret field data and communicate with Project Managers
- Assist with generating site maps, extent maps, potentiometric maps, and subsurface cross sections
- Evaluate laboratory and field data for technical document preparation which may include Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, Quarterly Monitoring, Site Investigation, UST Closure, Remediation
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER is desirable, but not mandatory

Candidate must be able to successfully pass drug screening, driving record, and criminal background check.
