As the Maintenance Manager, you will be a member of the plant leadership team and responsible for the overall site maintenance and storeroom departments. The Maintenance Manager ensures efficient execution of site maintenance activities while leading continuous improvement across all operating units. Additionally, as leader of the storeroom, the maintenance manager is responsible for managing spare parts inventory and optimizing costs.

ESHT Compliance:
- Ensure employees comply with mandatory ESHT training
- Ensure ESHT procedure compliance
- Promote good safety/housekeeping standards
- Implement safety improvements
- Encourage ownership of ESHT goals laterally and vertically
- Provide and attend weekly maintenance safety meetings
- Respond to plant emergencies
- Support Plant ES&H goals
- Perform job safely, in an environmentally sound manner
- Able to safely exit the plant in case of an emergency
Quality Focus:
- Ensure ISO/cGMP/HACCP compliance
- Ensure maintenance activities are executed in accordance with all cGMP requirements
- Ensure all maintenance work documentation meets all quality / food safety / food security requirements
- Participate in customer / supplier / regulatory audits
Maintain Relationships:
- Set expectations vertically/horizontally, ensure direct report goals are set and managed appropriately
- Maintain positive union/management relationships via LLMC participation
- Resolve conflicts / coach as needed
- Motivate employees and facilitate maintenance technician skill development
- Provide necessary technical training
- Manage diversity
- Evaluate/interview new employees as required
- Facilitate training plans
- Manage performance of direct reports / oversee performance management of hourly technicians
Communications:
- Set clear performance expectations with maintenance personnel
- Communicate / interact with plant personnel on a frequent basis
- Ensure coordination between maintenance and other teams on plant issues (safety, quality, production, etc.)
- Support strong collaboration between production / engineering / maintenance departments
Production Support:
- Maintenance department to provide troubleshooting of process equipment / controls
- Identify root cause of failures
- Set and manage maintenance performance KPIs
- Maintenance department to interact closely with engineering to ensure continuous process improvement and improved equipment reliability
- Maintain strong predictive and preventative maintenance program for the site
Cost Management:
- Set and manage annual maintenance cost center budget
- Set and manage annual maintenance overtime KPI
- Manage contractor spending
- Pursue cost improvement opportunities
- Review monthly costs, identify areas of improvement, communicate variances
- Evaluate/approve purchase requisitions
Skill Requirements:
- Demonstrated management leadership skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes
- Ability to manage multi-craft maintenance technicians
- High degree of decision making and analytical capabilities
- Thorough working knowledge of repair and installation of processing equipment
- Chemical plant experience is desirable
- High degree of technical and engineering competency in the maintenance field
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
- Completion of a 2-year Technical Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology with minimum 5 years’ experience managing a maintenance department OR B.S. degree in mechanical, chemical or related field of engineering and minimum 3 years managing a maintenance department required
- Five years direct maintenance supervisory experience preferred
- Maintenance field experience desirable
- Previous exposure to computerized maintenance planning systems required
- SAP experience desirable
- Budgeting and cost forecasting experience required
Compensation: base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
Salary Range: $95,000 - $143,000
Annual Bonus Target: 12%, subject to plan provisions.
