Position Overview
Be a part of a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing global security by addressing systemic challenges posed by threats to humanity. As the Development Officer, you will develop and implement an annual plan to boost major giving through personalized engagement and outreach strategies, while also fostering and strengthening relationships with major donors and prospects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a portfolio of 80-100 prospects, creating tailored strategies with a focus on major giving opportunities
- Coordinate and facilitate leadership interactions with major giving prospects
- Design and execute segment-specific approaches for major giving prospects
- Track and report on the major gift pipeline for NTI leadership using Salesforce
- Manage the moves management system in Salesforce, including compiling donor and prospect lists for outreach and monitoring next steps for priority individuals.
- Establish a planned giving program, including identifying suitable prospects, responding to donor inquiries about planned gifts, educating leadership on planned/legacy giving, acknowledging planned gifts appropriately, and managing existing legacy donors
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of relevant experience in nonprofit development
- Strong communication, writing, and editing abilities
- High integrity and strong independent judgment
- Proven experience with individual stewardship and cultivation strategies, major giving cycles, retention tactics, and engagement metrics
- Familiarity with or interest in international relations, global security, and/or existential risk reduction
- Previous experience in major gift fundraising
- Proficiency with Salesforce or a similar donor database
Compensation
- Salary: $85,000-$102,000
