We are seeking a skilled Computer Hardware Engineer to join our team. This role involves hands-on work with advanced hardware technologies, including functional testing, performance testing, compatibility validation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate closely with developers, manufacturing, and marketing teams to support the development and deployment of innovative technologies.
Role and responsibilities:
- Hands-On Testing: Conduct thorough testing of cutting-edge computer hardware technology to ensure functionality and performance meet design specifications.
- DVT and Regulatory Compliance: Execute Design Validation Testing (DVT) to ensure hardware meets specifications. Assist in preparing systems for Safety, EMI and In Country Certifications as required.
- Basic Programming Skills: Use Python and batch script programming to automate testing processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
Additional Responsibilities:
- NPI Workflow Tracking: Monitor New Product Introduction (NPI) workflows and processes to ensure smooth transitions from development to production.
- Issue Resolution: Identify, track, and resolve hardware and firmware issues using 8D troubleshooting techniques to ensure product reliability and performance.
- Developer Collaboration: Work closely with software developers to confirm that hardware supports new software feature requirements and performs as expected.
- Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to define optimal shipping configurations and ensure smooth integration of hardware into the production process.
- Marketing Support: Assist the marketing team in the rollout of new security technologies, effectively communicating technical features and benefits.
- AVL Validation: Validate AVL hardware components for quality and performance, ensuring they meet required specifications and standards.
- Technology Research: Investigate and evaluate new technologies; collaborate with third-party vendors to test, validate, and implement innovative solutions.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or equivalent experience is a plus.
- Experience: basic knowledge of hardware components, including CPU, GPU, SSD, NVMe and BIOS. Experience with AVL hardware component validation is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and simple manner.
- Research: Motivated to research and evaluate new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with security technology and its integration into hardware products.
- Knowledge of compliance standards and regulations related to hardware testing.
- Previous experience in automating testing processes and developing scripts for hardware validation.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $140,000 – $160,000 USD. Fiery considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
