SUMMARY OF PURPOSE:
- The IT Report Analyst will work with college user community writing specification and project analysis for an ERP business system, such as Ellucian Colleague.
- The Report Analyst will be responsible for report writing, migration to new reporting tools, dashboard creation, and the development and implementation of a data dictionary as well as responsible for other technical functions related to all College business systems.
- Reports to the Director of Application Services or designer.

- Create Entrinsik Informer, Microsoft SSRS (Sequel Server Reporting Services) and Ellucian Insights to support the college business need.
- Lead the IT business effort to develop, implement and maintain the data dictionary.
- Analyze SQL tables in the ERP database to establish understanding of data for accurate retrieval and use in report writing.
- Edit existing SSRS reports and convert them to Ellucian Insights.
- Edit Existing Informer reports and convert to Ellucian Insights
- Educate users on ERP data structures and the use of other reporting applications.
- Collaborate with users to define concepts and detail reporting requirements.
- Has the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people.
- Performs needs analysis to define opportunities for new or improved business processes.
- Consults with users to identify and specify process and/or system requirements and coordinates with IT/vendor technical support personnel to effect solutions.
- Manages development work of external software vendors.
- Works with users in testing OCC solutions
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Candidates must have a strong understanding of relational database theory and be highly proficient in writing and understanding complex SQL code.
- A working knowledge of SSRS reporting is required
- Requirement Analysis in an IT environment
- Cultivating and maintaining relationships with users
- Ability to build consensus among multiple groups when required
- Understanding of integrated enterprise systems
- Negotiation skills (internal and/or external)
- Project management skills Use of project management tools, such as MS Project.
- Skills in both verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work as a team player in a multi-culturally diverse working environment
- Experience working with an ERP system.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- Associate's degree with at least three (3) years of recent work experience in Colleague application-programming and report writing, or four (4) or more years of position-relevant experience (these experiences may run concurrently with the experience requirements below).
- Bachelor's degree (Computer Information Systems or related field preferred) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) years of experience in application software programming in a web environment.
- Experience in higher education applications preferred.
- Experience with multicultural students and staff preferred.
