Job Title: Superintendent - Underground Wet Utilities
Location: Riverside CA County
Pay: $165,000 - $170,000

We are seeking an Underground Superintendent to oversee project coordination, planning, and leadership of foremen. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and skilled at anticipating and solving problems. This role requires ensuring that projects stay on schedule while maintaining strong client relationships through exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and organize materials, equipment, and inspections to align with the project timeline.
- Review construction plans for accuracy and feasibility.
- Analyze and interpret contract documents.
- Work with design engineers to resolve any discrepancies in plans and specifications.
- Create and manage project schedules, including short-term and long-term planning.
- Develop and implement site logistics strategies.
- Oversee the proper use of company tools, equipment, and materials.
- Collaborate with other superintendents and office personnel to enhance job site productivity.
- Provide guidance, supervision, and professional development to foremen and crew members.
- Lead on-site orientations and pre-construction planning meetings.
- Supervise foremen and crews, ensuring work aligns with project goals.
- Mentor foremen and crew members, conduct performance evaluations, and participate in the hiring process as needed.
- Ensure accurate tracking of work hours and monitor productivity.
- Oversee team member training, ensuring certifications and qualifications are up to date.
- Facilitate career development discussions with foremen and crews.
- Administer disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Immediately report and document any accidents, injuries, or incidents.
- Lead safety meetings, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Ensure the job site is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Manage safety, quality, risk, and compliance efforts for the project.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- At least 8 years of experience in underground pipeline construction, with a focus on wet utilities, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adjust to shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including active listening.
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams.
- Ability to understand written procedures, write routine reports, and follow multi-step instructions.
Additional Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record-keeping and follow-up tasks.
- Valid CA driver’s license and a clean driving record.
