Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee heavy civil construction projects in the Denver market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, earthwork, utilities, and public infrastructure, and will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project lifecycle. This role requires excellent leadership skills, technical expertise, and a thorough understanding of civil construction processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and completion of heavy civil construction projects in the Denver market, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications.
- Oversee all project phases, including pre-construction planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and project delivery.
- Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Provide leadership to project teams, including project engineers, superintendents, and field staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Ensure that all safety protocols and regulatory requirements are met, promoting a strong culture of safety on all project sites.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocations, identifying and mitigating risks to project success.
- Coordinate with design teams and engineers to resolve technical issues and ensure that all work aligns with project requirements and industry standards.
- Review and approve project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, submittals, and progress reports.
- Conduct regular project reviews to assess performance, cost, and schedule status, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local Denver construction regulations, permitting processes, and industry best practices.
- Represent the company in client meetings, public forums, and industry events as needed.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in project management for heavy civil construction projects, with at least 5+ years in the Denver market.
- Strong understanding of heavy civil construction processes, including earthwork, roadways, bridges, utilities, and public infrastructure.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale civil projects from pre-construction through completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, HCSS, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations.
- Familiarity with CDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation) standards and Denver market regulations.
- PMP certification is a plus, but not required.
- OSHA 30 certification or other relevant safety training preferred.
