Onsite Support Technician is responsible for troubleshooting of endpoint IT infrastructure. This person represents the front line of the service arm and is focused on customer service and is passionate about solving business issues that may arise in every day-to-day activity. The position requires basic network administration skills, in-depth workstation knowledge and management for both Windows and some Mac operating systems. The goal is to build, maintain and improve the efficiency of systems and networks to optimize technology for business sustainability.
Responsibilities Include
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices.
- Check computer hardware (HDD, mouse, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality.
- Perform regular, proactive service implementing best practices and standards.
- Business awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals.
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment, as necessary.
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair/replace parts, debug)
- Escalate service issues that cannot be completed within agreed-upon service levels.
- Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
- Perform system configuration and patch management.
Requirements
- Experience with Windows PC and some MAC operating systems deployment and administration concepts
- Ability to Install and configure Windows OS & software and functions according to specifications.
- 1+ years in the IT technology field
- Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills (both verbal and written)
- The ability to provide technical support and problem resolution for unfamiliar software and hardware.
- Experience working in an agile environment and within a small team.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs.
- Certification as IandrT Technician will be an advantage (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) Preferred
