Job Overview
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Foreman/Special Projects Assistant Project Manager to join our team and contribute to the success of our projects. This position is ideal for a candidate progressing from field installation to project oversight, particularly in commercial HVAC and piping systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee mechanical field operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of HVAC, piping, and applied mechanical equipment such as chillers.
- Collaborate with project managers, building owners, and contractors to meet project goals, manage schedules, and handle change orders.
- Supervise and mentor field staff, including sheet metal workers and pipefitters, to meet project timelines and quality standards.
- Review project documents, including scope of work, blueprints, and schedules, to manage resources effectively.
- Assist in developing project plans and budgets, monitoring costs, and ensuring project profitability.
- Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, resolving issues as they arise to keep the project moving smoothly.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, safety standards, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Local candidate with a stable work history in Los Angeles or surrounding areas.
- Experience as a sheet metal worker, pipefitter, or mechanical installer.
- Progressed from fieldwork to service roles in commercial HVAC, ideally working with piping and applied mechanical equipment such as chillers.
- Experience managing mechanical projects, including overseeing schedules, budgets, and client relationships.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, piping, and equipment installation techniques.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and field crews.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience managing multiple commercial HVAC and piping projects simultaneously.
- Hands-on knowledge of building codes, mechanical system installations, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
