About the role:
Currie & Brown is currently looking for a project controls specialist for our Salt Lake City office. The successful candidate will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing project construction cost reporting with cost forecasting and cost control, managing contingencies and regularly reporting/presenting to client stakeholders
- Liaising with the contractor’s project controls officers and project managers in reviewing, challenging and negotiating supporting cost validation documentation
- Providing change order and claims review, including review and recommendation of entitlements in accordance with the contractual terms and conditions
- Participating in business development and management of new projects
- Participating in industry benchmarking of project metrics
- Participating in, and supporting, best practice for the business, for project controls and cost management processes and procedures
Requirements:
- Ability to carry out independent auditor services with construction cost validation on projects
- Ability to self-manage, requiring minimal supervision
- Good time management, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products (MS Word, Excel, Project)
Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant area
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in project controls
- Experience working on large complex capital projects in the energy industry is preferred
- Experience in cost management
- Experience with SAP (preferred)
