Position Summary:
Applying engineering principles, design and develop new products, from 3D modeling to drawing creation and production implementation, based on customer feedback, sales requirements, and industry knowledge. The Design Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects. Provide assistance and training to less senior engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design of new parts and systems from concept level through to production release.
- Redesign existing parts for improved performance, quality and manufacturability.
- Generate new shock absorber/suspension concepts to advance technology portfolio.
- Participate/lead creative brainstorming sessions to solve technical challenges.
- Sustaining maintenance of production parts/prints to a high standard of detail.
- Generate production assembly procedures and documentation.
- Analyze quality issues for failure root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze lab and field test results to determine best path forward.
- Occasionally travel to audit suppliers and work to solve quality/manufacturing issues.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations and analysis.
- Create 3d models, 2d prints and FEA reports in CAD utilizing design standards, best practices and GD&T.
- Manage 5-10 projects simultaneously with minimal oversight to hit aggressive cost, time, and performance goals.
- Coordinate and execute large drafting revisions on a series of prints.
- Assist with the development and documentation of design and drafting systems.
- Develop test procedures for design verification plans.
Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:
- Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes (E.g., machining, forging, molding, stamping, high-volume assembly)
- Ability to work with CAD; 3d models, 2d prints with GD&T and FEA reports.
- Experience with a structured product development process and design best practices.
- Ability to work with suspension systems, shock absorbers and vehicle dynamics.

Position Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Experience:
5+ years of experience in product development and detailed part/system design.
Experience in automotive, power sports, consumer products or related industry preferred.

Ability to sit for long periods of time
Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
Some travel is required

Compensation Range
$111,617 - $153,473
The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Fox reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
