Senior Control System Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL
Salary: $88,334 - $132,502 annually
Job Overview: We are seeking a Senior Control System Engineer to join their team, contributing to flagship programs and tackling complex technological challenges. This role involves overseeing control system functions, guiding a team of engineers, and collaborating globally for knowledge exchange. The position includes up to 20% travel between sites and up to 10% other travel.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate to develop control system requirements, design, and verification for safety-critical applications as per ARP4754A and DO-178C.
- Ensure high standards of technical capability, quality, and teamwork within a cross-functional team.
- Provide engineering guidance, training, and create documentation.
- Review and ensure quality and completeness of technical documentation.
- Resolve complex technical problems using acquired experience and knowledge.
- Communicate complex technical ideas clearly and logically.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of product development experience, OR
- Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, OR
- PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
- Experience with requirements management.
Preferred Requirements:
- 5+ years of product development engineering experience.
- Experience with agile development methods.
- Military qualification of airborne systems.
- FAA certification experience.
- Experience with gas turbine engines, propulsion, or electrical control systems.
- Proficiency in control system design and analysis tools.
- Experience with model-based systems and digital engineering tools (MATLAB, Simulink).
- Knowledge of systems engineering and robust design tools.
- Experience with SysML modelling software such as Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw).
