With minimal supervision, directs the activities of work performed by Phlebotomists and/or Specimen Technicians. Performs and monitors support areas of the laboratory, as well as oversees all support operation and support workflows, i.e., multiple offsite laboratory locations.
Minimum Education
- Associate's degree in health related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Work Experience
- 2 years of Phlebotomy/Laboratory experience;
- Supervisory experience preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Certification by a national agency.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Required to perform all essential and necessary job functions as stated in Clerk Phlebotomist I- Lead job description.
- Familiarity with clerk phlebotomy operations and well as offsite workflow processes.
- Knowledge in the areas of quality improvement, centrifuge and eye wash maintenance, as well as maintaining refrigerator temperature logs.
- Knowledge of inventory control preferred.
- Complies with regulatory requirements, OSHA/VOSHA Standard Precautions; practices personal and hospital safety and complies with confidentiality policy.
- Communicates patient information to physicians, office staff, and hospital employees.
- Able to provide clinical laboratory information to all customers groups.
Salary Range: $47,000 - $75,000
