Our client, a world-renowned multi-million-dollar manufacturer of outdoor and indoor equipment, is embarking on another exciting phase of technical transformation by expanding and enhancing their internal IT landscape. With a Global presence, over 50 locations, countless publications, & several pioneering projects in the pipeline for the next several years, they are expanding their IT team to accommodate growth fueled through acquisition and product expansion.
We are seeking an Infrastructure Project Manager that will be responsible for managing IT infrastructure and deployment projects to ensure alignment with organizational goals and requirements. The Project Manager will enhance and adhere to PMO processes and policies while collaborating with steering teams and other PMO leaders, both internal and external, to define, prioritize, and develop projects and overall program elements. The IT Project Manager reports directly to the Senior Director of the IT PMO and is responsible for providing regular project and program updates to the IT leadership team, CIO, steering committees, and other relevant groups.
This role offers a hybrid work schedule with 2 days a week in the office!
Position Summary:
- Plan and manage medium-to-large-scale IT infrastructure and deployment projects involving multiple systems and business teams.
- Track project progress and prepare/update status reports for all active projects.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement more efficient technologies and business processes in deployment and DevOps practices.
- Hold team members accountable for timely project deliverables; find innovative solutions to maintain schedules and make necessary business trade-offs.
- Assess project risks and issues, developing and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Organize, lead, attend, and document relevant project meetings.
- Gather and prepare the necessary materials for all meetings.
- Utilize various project management and collaboration tools based on project size and scope.
- Develop technical documentation, including but not limited to deployment plans, release notes, infrastructure diagrams, and operational runbooks.
- Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of technology platforms by establishing best practices through sound design, decision-making, and tools.
- Participate in setting goals, priorities, strategies, and initiatives across multiple platforms, focusing on infrastructure and release management.
- Develop and manage budgets, tracking spending by key vendors and expense category.
Minimum Experience:
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive IT project management experience with a focus on infrastructure, deployment, and DevOps; proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence outcomes.
- Strong understanding and experience with project management tools, IT processes, and requirements related to infrastructure and release management preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Ability to manage tasks using various project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) as appropriate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
- An ability to think critically about processes and best practices, demonstrating a solid understanding of end-to-end workflows while respectfully questioning current practices; a strategic thinker with sound knowledge of relevant business processes beyond system aspects.
- Highly motivated self-starter, innovative, quick to learn, with a strong customer service orientation.
- Availability for on-call support during project go-lives and off-shift assistance.
- Flexibility in schedule to align with global program resources and adapt to shifting project management needs.
- BA/BS degree required.
