We are looking for a Budget Manager for our Client, a power plant. This position requires travel to power plants within the New York Metropolitan area and occasional travel to the corporate offices in Stamford CT. While office space is available at the plants and Stamford CT, the main office for this position will be in Astoria, NY.
In this role you will be responsible for supporting the management of the budgeting, forecasting and cost tracking of Operations & Maintenance, Capex, and Major Maintenance activities of fossil fuel power plants.
The ideal candidate would have a 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, preferably with Power Plant Operations or Maintenance, experience using BI applications such as Tableau or Power BI.
Experience with ERP/EAM solutions such as Hexagon, Maximo, SAP, Vena, Dynamics GP and NetSuit. Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
JOB DUTIES:
- Works with Plant management personnel to develop, track, and report station level Operations and Maintenance, Major Maintenance and Capex budgets
- Works with Corporate Engineering department to develop and track Capex, Major Maintenance and Development projects
- Supports the Corporate Operations team with financial analysis, reporting and creation of sophisticated presentations on a variety of projects.
- Produces monthly financial and operational reports
- Schedules monthly meetings with plant management and Corporate Operations to discuss financial results
- Collaborates with plant accounting groups and support them with month-end closing activities
- Maintains direct working relationship with plant personnel, accounting and procurement managers in the corporate office and other facilities as required.
- Collaborate and solve problems – works with others to resolve significant issues, clarify, or interpret complex information, provide initial screening/negotiations.
- Shall maintain a strong knowledge of all contracts and maintains working relationship with legal counsel, internal auditors, government agencies, vendors, as required.
- Maintains an understanding of power plant revenues.
