Toyoda Gosei North America (headquartered in Troy, MI) has an opening for a CAD Administrator in the CAE/CAD department. The CAD Administrator functions with a moderate degree of autonomy and is responsible for CAD hardware and software planning and support for Toyoda Gosei (TG) North America Corporation (TGNA), and TG Americas Manufacturing Companies (AMCs).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Support both hardware (workstations, servers, etc.) and software planning, implementation and maintenance related to CAD / multiple customer CAD environments and data transfer. CATIA V5 / 3DX CATIA / 3DX Platform / Siemens NX, licensing, customer implementations of those CAD systems required.
- Connect with customer real-time PDM systems
- Plotting / Printing / Scanning Support
- License server management / license tracking / license enrollment
- Maintain / improve current data exchange servers / processes to enable improved data exchange and data security
- Assist in developing long-term strategy planning for CAD/CAE needs of future hardware and technologies
- Work with team members and customers to modify / improve data entry process and solve related issues
- Provide feedback on process and efficiency improvement for data entry process and make continuous improvement to the processes by automating process through development / programming etc.
- Identify the issues related to processes and propose countermeasures to improve all Engineering Support systems
- Develop, document, and maintain work related policies, procedures
- Drive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts (kaizen)
- This role requires the completion of other duties as assigned
- Assisting on budget activities and software maintenance is desirable.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Systems is required
- Windows / Linux knowledge and experience, 5 - 10+ years’ experience required
- CAD / CAE System Administration – OEM environment creation and distribution is required
- Familiarity with CAD system and OEM customization installation requirement and file/data transfer protocols
- Network knowledge/experience and programming experience using different tools is required
- Ability to effectively prioritize, follow standard procedures, and execute tasks is required
- Effective attention to turn-around, up-time, reduction in lead time is required
- High self-motivation with keen attention to details is required
- Advanced ability to identify issues and problems to develop proper countermeasures is required
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suites 2020 or newer is required
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines is required
- Effective verbal, non-verbal, negotiation and written communication skills are required
- Ability to sustain a high degree of professionalism in interacting with internal and external customers is required
- Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills is required
