Overview:
ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Industrial Safety Specialist position will support the Columbia Generating Station refueling outage by conducting safety inspections, ensuring compliance with regulations, and minimizing liability. Responsibilities include analyzing safety concerns, responding to medical emergencies, attending safety meetings, and providing training. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.
Pay rate: $36.31 - $62.4

Responsibilities:
- Operate under the guidance of the Contract Technical Representative, adhering to the specific work release directives.
- Perform safety and industrial hygiene inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
- Actively monitor and enforce compliance with safety requirements and Washington State regulations for contractors, subcontractors, and their employees to minimize liability.
- Review and understand the prime and general contractor’s liability as specified in the Department of Labor & Industries WISHA Regional Directive (WRD) 27.
- Document findings from inspections and audits, and report any compliance issues to the Contract Technical Representative.
- Provide guidance and support for safety training initiatives to ensure that all personnel understand and adhere to safety protocols.
- Work collaboratively with EN personnel and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety throughout the refueling outage.
- Be flexible and adapt to changes in the period of performance as directed by the Contract Technical Representative.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Safety Engineering or related field and 8 years applicable experience;
- OR an associate’s degree with 10 years of applicable experience;
- OR14 years applicable experience.
- Demonstrated aptitude in Core Values and Leadership Competencies.
- Ability to manage a project from inception to completion.
- Skilled in preparing complex written reports.
- Experience in preparing and delivering oral presentations to both management and internal/external organizations.
- Proven ability to serve as a leader of a committee or task force.
- Expertise in facilitating group problem-solving, decision-making, or strategic planning sessions.
- Experience in leading benchmarking, self-assessments, or audits.
- Relevant instructional or teaching experience.
