Title: Buyer - (Indirect Purchases)
Location: Inglewood, CA 90302 - (100% - Onsite)
Duration: 6 month, Contract to Hire
Hourly Rate: $36-$40, w-2
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Buyer (Indirect Purchases) is an experienced buyer and excellent negotiator within the purchasing department. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, good business sense, excellent negotiations experience and be predisposed to seek value. The Buyer III (Indirect Purchases) will primarily purchase indirect goods and services but may also purchase direct non-complex materials for production. Candidates should have experience in understanding construction projects and costing, large equipment and high-dollar asset purchases, software, travel, and other facilities-related costs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
DESCRIPTION:
1. Review and understand Purchase Requests, identify appropriate vendors, ensure appropriate. competition, negotiate best value contracts, and satisfy completion/delivery requirements - 60%.
2. Ensure appropriate record keeping of purchase activities - 10%.
3. Ensure timely delivery of purchased goods or services, and accurate reporting of status to management - 30%.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong sense of personal and professional integrity.
• 3+ years prior experience as a Buyer, or an AA/AS or BA/BS degree or higher with 2+ years of experience in either a Buyer or Sales role where negotiation was required.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP or strong evidence that demonstrates the ability to quickly learn SAP and proprietary software.
• Self-starter, highly organized, outgoing with excellent people and oral communication skills.
• Correspondence and letter writing (proper spelling and grammar is required).
• Excellent negotiation skills combined with the business sense to identify and utilize the most favorable information during that negotiation.
• Evidence of sound business decision making skillset.
• Knowledge of construction processes and principles.
• Knowledge in construction costing and quantity take-offs skills.
• Provide support to the Project & Facility teams.
• Able to compare contractor estimates to quickly identify best valued supplier.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate with General Contractors.
• Oversee the PO/project progress and payment process of contractor.
• Must be able to speak/read/write English.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Preferred skill:
• Robust "indirect procurement” experience: Construction procurement, Equipment and high-value asset purchases, Software, Travel procurement, and other facilities-related procurement.
