POSITION OVERVIEW
The Human Resources Generalist is a key player in both strategic HR initiatives and day-to-day operational activities. The HR Generalist will collaborate closely with leadership to drive HR strategic initiatives that align with our company goals, while also handling essential HR functions to support our workforce.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals
- Provide guidance on HR policies, processes, and best practices to ensure compliance and effectiveness
- Manage full cycle recruitment processes, including sourcing, interviewing, onboarding
- Support HR structures and processes that will improve the employee experience, support operations, streamline administration and improve overall productivity
- Process biweekly payroll with precision and promptness
- Manage employee relations issues with professionalism, providing guidance and support to managers and employees
- Provide feedback to leaders on effective communication of priorities, setting expectations, allocating resources, removing barriers, delivering feedback, recognizing performance, and ensuring accountability for meeting expectations
- Administer HR programs including benefits, leave, disciplinary actions, investigations, performance management, productivity, compliance, employee development, engagement initiatives, health and safety, training, etc.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Works as an active team member by participating in problem solving, team building, and all other team activities to improve the processes, productivity, quality, etc. of the department
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
Required: A Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field
Experience:
Required: Minimum four to five (4-5) years of relevant experience as an HR Generalist, HR Specialist, or comparable role
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to stand, sit at a desk, walking around office and plant, lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Also requires the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates. Must be able to stand, twist, lift, pinch, walk, bend, kneel and have hand and wrist dexterity.
Work Environment: While performing duties of the job, the employee will work in a metal finishing environment. The employee will be exposed to fumes and vapors, high noise exposure. Work environment involves daily exposure to potential physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards. Exposure to chemicals, cold, heat, humidity, dust, fumes, and noise. We provide a regulated, safe/healthy environment for our employees.
