Job Purpose:
The Senior Systems Administrator is crucial for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the organization's technology infrastructure. By maintaining and troubleshooting IT systems, the position supports uninterrupted business operations and enhances overall productivity. The role's focus on security measures, backup, and disaster recovery protects the organization from data loss and cyber threats. This role will not only provide comprehensive systems support, but also step into development and strategy over time under the leadership of the Director of Information Systems, thus addressing immediate IT needs and aligning with long-term organizational goals, ensuring robust performance and resilience in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Job Description:
Responsible for managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes installing, configuring, and supporting IT hardware and software, ensuring system security, and maintaining efficient IT operations. Assist as needed with the development of IT policies, procedures, risk assessments, and strategic planning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
System Management
- Maintain the integrity of the IT infrastructure.
- Manage information technology projects.
- Maintain process documentation for key infrastructure elements.
- Maintain change documentation for systems and access.
- Provide regular reports to the IT Steering Committee.
Network Administration
- Manage network servers, hardware, and technology tools.
- Perform regular system updates and patches.
- Manage network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Monitor system performance to ensure high availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
- Manage and monitor the Microsoft Azure and 365 environments.
- Active Directory, Azure, Microsoft 365, VMWare, Windows Server.
User Support
- Provide technical support for systems and staff.
- Ensure accurate documentation of changes and their respective approvals.
- Manage and support user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Security
- Manage security tools and measures.
- Conduct regular assessments of systems and hardware.
- Enforce IT policies and procedures.
- Testing of the Business Continuity Plan, Business Impact Analysis, Pandemic Plan, and Incident Response Plan.
Backup and Recovery
- Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Ensure data integrity and availability through regular backups.
- Restore data and systems as needed.
- Maintain critical hardware and software inventories.
Other Key Job Functions:
- Maintain an awareness of new technologies and standards.
- Communicate effectively with Management, Auditors, Vendors, and other bank personnel.
- Adhere to all bank and department personnel policies and procedures.
- Perform other reasonably related job responsibilities as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Security, or a related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- Microsoft Azure and CompTIA (A+, Cloud+, Security+) certifications strongly preferred.
- 5+ years experience in information systems management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong spelling and grammar skills.
- Ability to maintain the strictest level of confidentiality.
