Role Description
We are seeking a full-time, Residential Interior Designer with at least 10 years of experience designing and detailing the interiors of substantial residential properties. Central to the role will be the execution of fine interior designs and details while proactively collaborating with design and construction team members as well as sophisticated residential clients. Experience in designing and detailing architectural interiors as well as interior finish specifications for new home construction, restorations, and renovations, including millwork and cabinetry, is critical. This position is based out of C&M’s Essex office and is fully integrated with the Interiors Group, working directly with the architects, interior designers, and woodworking team.
Required Experience
- 10+ Years in high-end residential interior design and detailing, including specifying fixtures and interior finishes including decorative & soft finishes.
- Experience in space planning, interior architecture, and construction drawings
- Experience working with and managing high-end residential clients.
- Solid experience in traditional/classical cabinetry and millwork detailing.
- Strength producing accurate space plans, furniture plans, electrical layouts, RCPs, detailed elevations, sections and 3-D renderings. Use of CAD drafting software a must. (Knowledge of ArchiCAD or Cabinet Vision software a plus).
- Strong experience in kitchen and bath design.
- Deep experience creating and maintaining relationships with vendors and craftspeople.

- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, architects, and builders
- Experience in cabinetry and millwork design and detailing.
- Experience in historic preservation is a plus
- Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field is preferred
- Ability to travel to job sites throughout New England as required.
