Job Description:
Legal Analysis and Support:
- Review agreements, identify conflicts, and draft revisions during negotiations with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
- Conduct legal research on statutes, case law, and regulations.
- Analyze incoming legal matters such as trademark renewals or litigation notices and recommend actions.
- Assist with litigation management, e-discovery, and correspondence with outside counsel.
- Advise on product development legal concerns and corporate compliance matters.
- Support due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions.
Legal Operations Management:
- Maintain the litigation tracker and coordinate with outside counsel on legal matters.
- Manage litigation holds, indemnification requests, and trademark renewals.
- Develop processes to improve efficiency within the legal department.
- Track and coordinate internal requests for legal services.
Project Management and Communication:
- Manage special projects, provide updates to senior legal staff, and act as a primary contact for internal teams.
- Prepare materials for board meetings and distribute updates on legal matters to stakeholders.
Professional Development:
- Seek opportunities to expand legal knowledge and take on increasingly complex tasks under senior attorney mentorship.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- 1-3 years of legal experience, preferably in a corporate or in-house setting
- Active bar membership in Missouri or ability to obtain reciprocal licensing
- Strong academic background with excellent research and writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, legal research tools, and document management systems
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
