DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

POSITON:
San Diego FC is seeking a highly organized and dynamic Director of Operations to manage all operational aspects of the operation at Snapdragon Stadium, the Global HQ, and the warehousing/logistics strategies. This role will oversee the smooth execution of matchday operations, warehouse management, and inventory logistics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, logistics, team leadership and budgeting ideally within sports. The candidate must be able to thrive under pressure and ensure the team delivers in high stress environments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in operations, preferably in sports or entertainment.
- Proven leadership in complex operations overseeing stadium ops, inventory management, logistics, and warehousing operations.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in budgeting, P&L management, and performance metrics.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work autonomously and use excellent judgement.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and manage the department’s operational budgets, providing financial reports and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Oversee and coordinate all stadium operations, including event setup, teardown, and fan services, to ensure a top tier matchday experience.
- Lead communications and relationship with Snapdragon Stadium (OVG).
- Create long form and short form Event Notes and ensure the Club is aware of what’s happening.
- Oversee daily operations at the club’s HQ, including office management, event support, and facility maintenance.
- Supervise logistics for receiving, storing, and distributing merchandise, equipment, and supplies.
- Lead and develop the operations team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor and optimize warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory control and timely fulfillment of internal requests.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services, while negotiating favorable contracts.
- Collaborate with the marketing and retail teams for product launches, promotional events, and logistical needs.
- Work with OVG to create inclement weather policies that align with MLS Guidelines.
- Work on emergency response plans.
- Develop and implement operational processes to improve efficiency, cost control, and safety in all areas.
- Working with OVG to ensure stadium facilities are maintained to a high standard, scheduling repairs and upgrades as needed.
- Plan and execute logistics for special events, such as press conferences, team events, and community outreach programs.
- Implement health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory standards across stadium and HQ operations.
