Bachelors and/or Masters degree. Responsibilities: Provide Orientation and Mobility Training to students, according to Individual Education Programs (IEPs). Conduct evaluations to establish eligibility for 0 & M Services, adhering to the TEA and District guidelines. Write reports that meet the guidelines and standards of the District, which discuss O & M skills and needs of individual students. Effectively use the District's electronic IEP system, after training provided by the District. Develop appropriate IBP/Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) goals and objectives for orientation and Mobility Instruction. Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD)/IEP meetings, adhering to the guidelines of the District. Maintain service logs to document the number of sessions, times, activities and progress toward mastery of the IEPs for each student receiving 0 & M Services. Complete progress reports related to IEP objectives, adhering to the timelines established. Consult with parents, teachers and district staff on matters related to Orientation and Mobility. Work with the VI Teacher and other instructional/related service personnel to provide appropriate services to individual students. Attend meetings, when required, in order to maintain knowledge and skills related to services and procedures in the District. Travel from location to location in order to provide services to students on the caseload. Provide O & M Instruction to students in a variety of locations, including the campus, the student's neighborhood and the larger community, as appropriate.
